Local Data Analytics Firm Helping College Navigate the COVID-19 Economy

GLEN ELLYN, Ill., October 15, 2020 — Fall 2020 has proven to be extraordinarily complicated for colleges and universities navigating the COVID-19 landscape, and College of DuPage Continuing Education is not immune to these challenges. But College of DuPage Continuing Education has tapped into a local innovative startup — Datatelligent (www.datatelligent.ai), a data analytics firm, to help them sustain their lifelong learning enrollments while moving the majority of courses online. Datatelligent is a member of Innovation DuPage, a business incubator/accelerator for rising companies.

“Higher education is increasingly reliant on data to inform our service of students and to drive our business intelligence and continuous improvement. I see Datatelligent as an ideal partner to help our staff access the most timely, essential data as it relates to our students and their needs in regards to the impacts of COVID-19, to empower us to continue to serve the 30,000 students per year who have come to count on us,” said Joseph Cassidy, Assistant Vice President of Economic Development and Dean of Continuing Education and Public Services at College of DuPage.

Datatelligent is working with College of DuPage to examine enrollment trends to help the team better understand their students’ future interests and learning needs. Through Datatelligent’s Data Analytics as a Service (DAaaS) solution, Continuing Education staff can tailor course offerings and delivery options to better meet student demand.

“We are thrilled to be working with College of DuPage as they strengthen their Continuing Education offerings,” said Larry Blackburn, Chief Data Transformation Officer, Datatelligent. “We have been helping colleges and universities tap into critical data points in order to make informed decisions on issues facing their institutions this fall and into the future. We look forward to providing the team at College of DuPage with the necessary information to build a strong, successful program for lifelong learners.”

This partnership is also a success story for Innovation DuPage, a Glen Ellyn-based incubator that encourages innovation and entrepreneurship. Innovation DuPage has over fifty companies in its incubator with support coming from regional colleges and universities, chambers of commerce and industry.
